Raksha Bandhan with a Green Promise in Odisha

On this Raksha Bandhan, three digital media platforms — MBC TV, O TV, and YouTube channel Sandhan Express — along with four newspapers — Pramaya News Express, Sandhan Express, Prustabhumi, and Kalinga Samaj — carried the message: “Let’s pledge to protect our environment too.”
They celebrated Ammucare’s Fruit Tree Plantation efforts in Odisha through TV broadcasts, YouTube coverage, and newspaper features.
As a symbolic gesture, rakhis were tied to the very trees planted by Ammucare Odisha volunteers in 2021 in the village of Popoda. These saplings, once tender, have now grown — with 40 out of the 100 planted trees surviving despite the rocky soil. Some trees are already bearing fruits, enjoyed by both birds and the children of ME School, Popoda.
Villagers expressed heartfelt gratitude to Ammucare for initiating the plantation drive and for supporting them in maintaining the trees, especially by assisting with water arrangements.

Through our Fruit Tree Plantation Initiative, we aim to give back to nature and foster a self-sustaining ecosystem — one that will provide food and abundance for generations to come, for all beings alike.
