Program Locations

  • Kurnool, Andhra Pradesh - India

The Ugadi Seva is a vital annual charitable initiative organized by the Ashraya Trust in collaboration with the Ammucare Charitable Trust. Dedicated to the spirit of selfless service, this project supports the thousands of devout pilgrims undertaking the grueling long-distance journey on foot to seek blessings at the sacred Sri Mallikarjuna Swamy Temple in Srisailam.

Navigating challenging terrains and rising temperatures, these walking devotees rely on the strength of their faith—and the critical support of our dedicated teams. Volunteers operate round-the-clock to establish a haven of relief along the pilgrimage route, ensuring every seeker can complete their sacred walk in health, safety, and dignity.

Ammucare’s comprehensive relief efforts during this sacred journey feature:

  • Pada Seva: Soothing, therapeutic foot massages provided by volunteers to relieve muscle fatigue and bring deep physical comfort to weary travelers.
  • Food Seva: Round-the-clock distribution of fresh, nourishing meals and quick, energizing refreshments to sustain the pilgrims' strength.
  • Jal Seva: Continuous distribution of clean drinking water and cooling buttermilk to keep devotees safely hydrated against the scorching summer heat.
  • Medicine Seva: Fully equipped first-aid stations providing basic healthcare, essential medicines, and immediate medical support for blisters, exhaustion, and minor injuries.
