Ammucare Charitable Trust (“Ammucare”, “we”, “us”) respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal data we collect when you visit this website or make a donation, how we use and protect it, and the rights you have under Indian law.
1. Who we are
Ammucare Charitable Trust is a public charitable trust registered in India (Registration No. 664 / 4 / 2003 TCR SR), with its registered office at Pathirisseri, Puthur, Palakkad, Kerala, India. For any privacy question you can reach us at info@ammucare.org or +91-8754486313.
2. The law this policy follows
We handle personal data in accordance with the applicable laws of India, including the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the Information Technology (Reasonable Security Practices and Procedures and Sensitive Personal Data or Information) Rules, 2011, and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, as and when its provisions come into force. Where you contribute from outside India, we also comply with the Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Act, 2010 (“FCRA”).
3. What we collect
- Details you give us when you donate, volunteer or contact us — your name, email address, postal address, telephone number and message.
- Tax and receipt details — your Permanent Account Number (PAN) is required to issue a receipt eligible for deduction under Section 80G of the Income-tax Act, 1961.
- Payment information — donations are processed by our payment gateway, Razorpay. Your card, UPI or bank details are entered on the gateway’s secure, PCI-DSS-compliant systems. We do not see or store your full card number, CVV or banking credentials. We receive only a confirmation and a transaction reference.
- Foreign-contribution details — if you give from outside India, FCRA requires us to record your name, nationality, passport or identity number and address, and to receive the contribution in our designated FCRA bank account.
- Technical data — when you browse, we may collect your IP address, browser type, device information and pages visited, through cookies and similar technologies (see section 8).
4. How we use your data
- To process your donation, issue a receipt and, where applicable, an 80G certificate;
- To acknowledge your gift and keep you informed about the work it supports, where you have asked to hear from us;
- To respond to your enquiries and manage volunteering;
- To meet our legal, tax, audit and FCRA reporting obligations;
- To maintain the security and proper functioning of this website.
We do not sell, rent or trade your personal data to anyone.
5. When we share data
We share personal data only where necessary, and only with:
- Our payment gateway (Razorpay) to complete your transaction;
- Service providers who help us operate (for example email and hosting), under confidentiality obligations;
- Government, tax and regulatory authorities where required by law — including the Income-tax Department and the authorities administering the FCRA;
- Our auditors and professional advisers.
6. How long we keep it
We keep donation and financial records for as long as the law requires us to — including under the Income-tax Act and, for foreign contributions, the FCRA, which requires records to be preserved for a number of years. Other personal data is kept only for as long as it is needed for the purpose it was collected.
7. How we protect it
We apply reasonable security practices and procedures to protect your data against unauthorised access, alteration or disclosure. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, but payments are handled on the gateway’s encrypted, PCI-DSS-compliant infrastructure.
8. Cookies
This website uses cookies and similar technologies to make the site work, remember your preferences and understand how the site is used. You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings; disabling some cookies may affect how the site works.
9. Your rights
Subject to applicable law, you may:
- ask what personal data we hold about you, and request a copy;
- ask us to correct or update inaccurate data;
- ask us to erase data we no longer need to keep;
- withdraw consent to marketing communications at any time;
- raise a grievance about how your data is handled.
Some data we are legally required to retain (for example donation records for tax and FCRA purposes) and cannot delete on request.
10. Children
This website and its donation facility are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us data, please contact us and we will remove it.
11. Contributions from outside India
Foreign contributions are accepted only in accordance with the FCRA and are received into our designated FCRA account. If you contribute from outside India, your data may be processed and stored in India, and shared with Indian regulatory authorities as the FCRA requires.
