Theertha Sugunan, 3 and half year old baby girl from chavakkad, a small village in Kerala. Just like all her friends of the same age, she also runs, plays, and do everything like any other child. It was only an year before that her parents realized that she had some hearing problem….. When all hear friend started shouting Theertha was quiet…… she always wanted to tell something always….Immediately her parents took her to an ENT Hospital and Research Centre. Under the guidance of Dr. Noushad some speech Therapy sessions were conducted……. but no positive signs from it….
She was taken to many other Hospitals in Kerala and Tamil Nadu, all the Doctors strongly recommended a COCHLEAR IMPLANT SURGERY for Theertha, as she need treatment for both deafness and dumbness. And the Doctors insists that the surgery to be before 4 years of age for better results and the surgery is expected to cost around 7.5 to 8 lakhs. Her parents are now struggling to raise money for the surgery as soon as possible since very soon she will be 4 years.
We, friends, family and well-wishers, all are frantically looking for organizations / NGOs/ individuals who can partly or fully donate towards the cost of the surgical operation and the medical treatment in respect of the said child. Please find attached the scanned copies of some necessary medical documents and certificates etc. in respect of the same.
Medical Treatment for Theertha started too early when she was only six months in her native town of Thrissur under the guidance of Dr. Naushad. They done elaborate check up and concluded that her ear has the capability of hearing sound of high decibel.
This gave her parents a hope and they took her to a some specialized hospital to check if anything is possible without surgery and too as early as possible. Poor parents could not raise money and still struggling to find a source for the fund.
About Baby Theertha
Theertha is now going to the EPHPHATHA Speech & Hearing School and the very thought of going to School brings joy on her face. She loves the world and her friends so much. Unlike her other friends, who can atleast speak, Baby Theertha cannot speak & hear.
Money is the only factor hindering the way and the little tiny contributions each one of us can make will fill the money bag.
Come Lets all together help Theertha to walk into the world of words & sounds.
