Ammucare is a platform for selfless service beyond all man-made barriers supporting and uplifting the helpless and needy by providing resources and services.
Ammucare Charitable Trust (ACT) was founded in Palakkad, Kerala in October 2003 by P.K. Mohan (Mohanji) in honour of his daughter Ammu who passed away at the age of four in a tragic road accident. She displayed maturity and purity way beyond her physical age and during her brief sojourn on this planet her love and charisma touched many people's lives. It is through the love that continuously flows through ACT that little Ammu indeed lives on.
ACT is a platform for selfless service beyond all man-made barriers of religion, caste, race, class, gender, etc., supporting and uplifting the helpless and needy by providing resources and services such as food, clothing, shelter, medicine/medical treatment and education. Youth are encouraged to participate in the service initiatives. Through consistent display of genuine love and kindness, the inner world is kept clean. Therefore, the larger purpose of ACT is to create peace and non-violence in our internal and external environment.
Through all its projects or Seva activities, ACT is selflessly committed to public service in India. There are several similar efforts which are undertaken in many countries across the globe. The purpose of ACT is to serve others and helping others with compassion, serving not for personal gratification but to uplift others.
